Getting Pinnacle 7010ix to work with SageTV (DVB-S problem)

I have just purchased a Pinnacle 7010ix card in the UK and would like to get it working with SageTV.

It has 2 x DVB-S and 2 x DVB-T tuners, all 4 tuners can record/watch simultaneously. I would love to get this card working with SageTV. I think the driver that installed from windows update is a BDA driver, it works with Windows Media Center.

When I install in Sage, it sees the two DVB-T tuners, but only finds a few channels.

Can someone point me in the right direction so I can try and modify Sage settings etc to get it working? Or is there anything else I should do?

Thanks

Update:
I have now got this working with the DVB-T tuners, with just a little channel editing required.

My problem now is that the DVB-S tuners are not even showing as available sources. Does any have any tips on how to get DVB-S working? I'm sure this will depend on the drivers, but I'm interested in whether SageTV needs anything special setting up to persuade it to recognise DVB-S tuners?

Thanks

I have just got one of these cards as well

It wasn't picking up all DVB-T muxes/channels but by doing subtle alterations on the .FRQ file it now works. I used ScanChannelsBDA_UK to scan my local transmitter (Heathfield) but it wasn't picking up all the muxes. However by using Option 2 = "UK (166khz Offset) it picked up all the muxes but with some actual frequencies slightly offset as follows:
538000=538000
578000=578000
682000=681833
690000=689833
714000=713833
738000=738000
I then altered the Sage .frq files to the actual frequencies and it now works in Sage

I too would like to get the DVB-S working. I have tested the card using DVBViewer and it picks up all the channels from Astra (including BBC-HD). DVBViewer sees four tuners - 2x DVB-T and 2x DVB-S.

The question is why does Sage only seem to see the DVB-T tuners and not the DVB-S tuners.

In Sage, when I go to add a Video Source, it lists two devices, namely:
7162 BDA Analog Capture
7162 BDA Analog Capture #2
When I select the first one, you get the following selection:
Composite
Composite_2
Digital TV Tuner
S-Video
S-Video_2
TV Tuner
When I select the second one, you get the following selection:
Digital TV Tuner
S-Video
TV Tuner
I would have expected Sage to list four devices and for the selection to include something like Digital Satellite Tuner?

I have searched the forums but can't find anything (that I understand) to help define (manually) the other two tuners. Is this hardcoded into Sage or is there a configuration option to specify it.

With the cost of the 7010i being around 30-35UKP and the new publicity surrounding Freesat in the UK, I could well imagine that there could be a lot of UK Sage users wanting to go down this route

Any help to sort this out would be much appreciated

Thanks for the advice on getting the DVB-T tuners working properly. I had the same experience, so now I should be able to get the channels working properly

So, onto the DVB-S tuners - I have searched the forums and the site/documentation to try and get information on how to get Sage working with other tuners, with no success at all. Not sure if I am just being dim...

This would be a great value tuner if we can get it to work with DVB-S in Sage!

Can anyone point us in the direction of a guide on how to get tuners supported? Particularly DVB-S.

For info: I have raised a request with Sage Support to have this card added to the list of supported cards

Very similar story here: 7 beta, Pinnacle 3010 card, DVB-T working fine but no trace of DVB-S.

I hadn't tried SageTV until today, but I'm kind of blown away by how it looks and performs. It would be great to get this working so I can get paid up and start enjoying the product.

I dont think we'll ever see the Sat part of the 7010 working with sage. I also find the DVBT tuners a bit flaky so make sure they are lowest in priority.

@Dan13 if you only have a 3010 card then you wont get sat anyway as its just a terrestrial tuner.

One solution for 7010 users would be to use DVBE4sage. It doesnt work well with WHS but should be fine with other OS's.

I had the 7010ix card working on my old setup (until a few weeks ago) running SageTV 6.5 on 2003 server, but then I switched across to v7 beta on WHS and I can't get it to recognise the Sat tuners anymore. DBViewer seems to work OK, but I've now abandonned the card and will use something else. From what I read, the card won't work well with WHS and SageTV.
