Turn off TV with Hauppauge remote?

I'm sure this is somewhere in here, but no amount of my forum searching can turn up the answer...

Is there a way I can configure the Hauppauge 45-button remote to turn off the power to the television set when I press the green power button, without affecting Sage?

I want to be able to turn off the TV without keeping a separate remote that only does that one function. Shouldn't this be built into Sage, as it is in TiVo? What am I missing?

The Hauppauge remote is not a learning remote, so it isn't going to be able to do that unless the TV can learn an IR code fomr the Hauppauge remote or maybe if you had an IR blaster & you could configure something to have that blaster send the TV's power command... maybe someone else has another idea, though.

I see the issue. I have a USB-UIRT. Maybe I can figure out a way to make the two work together. Eventually I will pony up the cash for a decent remote.

Is there a better card than the Hauppauge, considering the remote problems I've been having and the downright dreadful picture quality I get on my TV from the Hauppauge?
