Question Girder for Firefly and Vista

I have used Girder 3.3 Firefly Edition with my Fitrfly Remote on XP with SageTV and it worked great. I am rebuilding my Media Center Hardware and using Vista. Will my Girder Firefly Edition software work with Vista?

Thanks ...

I would ask on the proximus forums, it should come down to Firefly in Vista at all.

I had difficulties with Girder 3.3 in vista. I switched to EventGhost (open source, free) and have had good luck with it. I don't think I even had to install firefly drivers... I think vista sees it as an X10 remote and that works fine with EventGhost.

I too use EventGhost but I figured since you paid for Girder you would want to use it.

I did ... this is the only response I got (from a user) ...

I think that you'll need to upgrade to Girder 5 for vista, but you may want to check if firefly makes drivers for vista, because I had a brand new Remote Wonder 2 that is now sitting in a drawer, gathering dust because when I bought it and started recreating my GML in Girder, I found that there are no drivers for it. Just one of a hundred problems I had with vista.

Never tried EventGhost ... Really liked Girder and it was easy to use. Like CollinR said, sid I already spent the money I was hoping to keep using it.

If I have to go to v.5, then I may try EventGhost ... Of course that will likely lead me to post questions your way ...
