IR blaster code

I am not able to configure the IR blaster with Dishnetwork's DVR 510 box. Even "Test all" did not find a code that will work. Does anyone know whether this box is supported or not? If it supported how do I get it configured? Thank you.

Did you try using the IRHelper.exe to analyze the problem. It is a small stand alone utility to read and send IR signals.

Thank you, but no luck. I could not find IRHelper.exe anywhere. In the zip file you had attached there was a IRNHelper.exe. I ran that and it wanted a dll file. I located that file and saved it into my Windows/System folder, then it wanted a newer version which I was not able to find.

In the meantime I called Hauppauge and their tech-support simply dismissed my request with, "if test all does not work the satellite box (Dishnet DVR-510) is not supported and that is that. I am almost ready to get myself an RMA #.

Dileepan,

Sorry that the DLL was not included. I put the DLL in the zip file, along with my current DirecTV IR file.

Is that utility going to do anything with a non-learning capable Hauppauge IR blaster?

Andy,

I assumed that Dileepan was using a USB-UIRT for the IR interface. I don't know if the utility works with the Hauppauge IR, since I never used it with the Hauppauge IR. The utility works great to test IR signal codes with the USB-UIRT.

That's what I figured -- the first post says nothing about what type of blaster is being used, but the next one mentions calling Hauppauge. I don't have a Hauppauge blaster either, so I don't now if there is any way to add IR codes for a box they don't already support... but I doubt it.

I vaguely remember having a lot of trouble getting the Hauppauge PVR-350 IR to work a few years ago. I gave up on the Hauppauge IR and ended up buying the USB-UIRT, which solved the problem.
