Exclamation DTV Serial Control broke??

In anticipation of the hd-pvr wich i have pre-ordered I am trying to switch over to serial to control my dtv boxes. If / when I get this working I will be completely rf/serial for all my equipment and I will be very happy.

I have 3 paterson serial devices installed and I can use dtvcontrol program to change the channels on each tuner without fail.

However Sage is another story, I have tried every version of the directvserialcontrol.dll posted on the forums and none are working for me.
I have also added the various registry settings mentioned in the dtv serial threads floating around.

I am on the latest non-beta version of sage 6.3.10

I really need to get this working so any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

I have the patterson device controlling 2 of my SD boxes and it works without fail.

There are instructions on the Patterson website that show you how to set these devices for 9600 baud, as DtV changed the baud rate on thier boxes a year or so ago.

Why will you control a DVR with Sage? Just order a HD receiver and the Patterson device will control this, as well as allowing you to record HD when Sage supports the new HDDVR device from Hauppayge.

Mine works out of the box with Sage and no modifications, make sure your serial ports are setup correctly, and run a loopback test to make sure they are communicating properly.

Hope this helps.

update

Ok, I have an update on my issue.

After doing alot more testing with my equipment I have narrowed it down to my pci serial card.

I tried using the serial ports in girder for controlling my reciever and it was showing com errors and only woking around 50 percent of the time.

I tried the paterson device on my onboard com port that my reciever was hooked to and it worked perfectly there.

BTW, I am using the paterson device to control dtv hd recievers I was referring the the new hauppauge component capture device that was just released.
