MP4 Problems in PlaceShifter

Okay - this is really starnge to me and maybe I need to tweak something. I have a very fast internet speed at my house 15mbs download and 2 mbs upload (Verizon FIOS). Clearly the upload speed is a bottleneck when using placeshifter since the server has to upload the data to the client at the other end (such as a hotel when on vacation).

Now - all my MPEG2 files stream and play pretty well even though I record at 2.4Gb / hour (or 5.3 mbs). Something is doing a decent job downscaling the mpeg2 files. Yet, my MP4 files are totally off where when they talk it is not at all in sync with the video. Yet I have encoded my mp4 videos at approximately 300 Mb / hour (or 5 megs/min = 667 kbps). This means since I can do a 2 mbs upload then as long as my download speed where I'm staying is greater than 667 kbps the mp4 file should not have to be downscaled at all and should play perfect yet it is way off.

What is wrong?
