Assigning ratings to imported videos

Is there any way to assign the MPAA rating to an imported video for the purposes of parental control. Obviously, these ratings are stored for recorded TV (and seem to work fine with the parental controls) but how can this be done for the equally important movies in the import directory

Yes, you can set metadata for imported videos including the MPAA rating through the use of .property files or .my files. The easiest way to do this with the standard STV is to install the import described in this post

Or, if you are using the SageMC STV, I believe the ability to edit this info is built in.

Here is another post that describes the .properties files.

Thanks. This works well though a bit tedious for a large movie collection. I am surprised the IMDB lookup does not grab the ratings info directly. I also like having what amounts to a backup of the Wiz.bin movie data info so I do not have to go through this process again if I move the files around, ect.
