Question Happague dual tuner newbie questions

1)Does Sage TV work with the Happague dual tuner DBV-T USB/PCI tuners?
2)Does it work with their remote controls?
3)It doesn't get the OTA EPG does it?
4)All its functionality is accessible via the remote isn't it? Watching via a TV do want to use a mouse/kb setup.

1. I could never get the card to work properly with Sage but others have had no problems with it. Nova TD dual DVB-T tuners (USB not PCI) work really well for me.
2. Dont know, I use an MCE remote (£25 with reciever)
3. If it works for you then yes it should have no problems getting the ota guide but I prefer xmltv guide using radiotimes data.
4. All functions work fine for me with the mce remote so I would assume the Haupparge remote will be the same, however you know what assume does dont you!!

I have the Nova T 500 dual dvb-t tuner.
Everything works perfectly. Sage works flawlessly with it, the EPG works just fine, and the remote works just as it should do.
In fact, I much preffer the Hauppauge remote setup than the MCE one. I use the MCE remote in all of my other rooms, mainly because they're bedrooms and the MCE remote illuminates which is handy at night. The MCE remote isn't fully configurable though, where the Hauppauge can have every button configured to how you want it.

Just to add a cautionary note with the dual hauppage nova t 500 pci.

i have got 2 in 2 different machines and i could never get them to be stable, they would just hang the machine with a locked up audio sound and then cause a physically reboot of the machine. I spent a long time trying to diagnose with sage support what the problem was but eventually had to give up to regain a watchable tv solution. Fitted cinergy 2400 cards instead and they work perfectly in the same hardware that caused problems with hauppage. May be important but not sure, i was using amd processors.

best

Pete.

That's strange, you have an almost identical setup to me.
Operating system, motherboard, RAM, HDD, even the case is the same. The only difference is the processor. I have the 4200+; and of course you now have different tuners.

Sounds like the same problem I had with the dual hauppage nova t 500 pci card. I tried it on difrent systems as well with no luck. I would personnaly stay away from those and get a more updated dual tuner card or usb stick.

Its weird. I have used a Nova T 500 dual dvb-t for a couple of years flawlessly with MCE. However for me it does not play nicely at all with Sage. Random lockups, bluescreens etc. My old Hauppauge single tuner PCI cards and USB sticks work fine.
