Two ATX Power Switches?

I have my STV computer in the basement, and I watch upstairs. I'd like to have the original power switch on the computer, plus one upstairs. This would be a traditional ATX momentary-on switch. I messed with other solutions, and decided this is the way to go. Read more here:

I don't see any reason why I can't split the loop circuit from the motherboard power pins. Closing either of the loops momentarily should turn on the computer. Before I trek to Radio Shack for the parts, I thought I'd check to see if someone has actually done this. Thanks.

Yep, you can have as many switches as you want on the power on circuit as long as they are all in parallel. No problem at all. I'm doing something a bit more complex with my rig, using one switch to power on two supplies. One is for the motherboard, the other for the hard drives and fans.

Thanks for the reply. Today I stripped but did not cut the two wires leading to the existing switch, soldered on the ends of a phone wire, ran the phone wire upstairs, soldered on a momentary-on switch I got from Radio Shack, and now I have upstairs and downstairs power switches for my computer. Won't get as much exercise running up and down, but this was a very cheap solution to the problem.

I'm gonna do this. I have been thinking of the same exact thing. I can't believe how often I need access to the power switch in my basement with SageTV. Why didn't I get a Comcast DVR? Oh right, I could only record 3 HD baseball games before it would be full.
