Playback stuttering

After upgrading my HTPC machine with a new motherboard and processor, a clean Sage installation has given me stuttering every 3 or 4 minutes. The stuttering is only a split second and I can't say I notice the video stuttering, but the audio is for sure.

Suggestions on where to start looking to find out what's causing this?

DirectX updated? Video card drivers updated? Sound card drivers updated? Choose a different audio decoder in Sage? Latest service packs installed?

I have to say yes to every question, and I've tried both the regular Sage decoders as well as the nVidia PureVideo decoder.

Now I haven't looked at all the motherboard settings, but supposedly it can dynamically adjust the speed of the processor and that was my first thought on what could be happening......but just not sure what would be safe to change. I'm using an ASUS P5K-E AP Edition. http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?mo...3&l2=11&l3=534

The CPU graph doesn't seem to be doing anything out of the ordinary when the stutter happens though. Any suggestions on something I can use to check my HD transfer rates to see if that's causing the problem? I've got Windows and Sage installed on C: and then all recordings are on D: which was formatted with 64k blocks.
