Sage TV RULES

I just wanted to say that after 4 or 5 weeks of f'ing around and trying to get OTA HD to work with BTV, I switched to Sage TV and tried ClearQAM (HD)

Wow. WOW. It actually worked, and records in MPEG-2 w/AC3 audio. I almost started to weep. Shh, don't tell anyone.

I'm going to record the March Madness games in HD, and it's all because of Sage's phenomenal product.

Thank you guys, you have a customer for the long haul.

It's always nice to hear from a fellow satisfied customer. Welcome to the group. There are a lot of great tweaks and mods you can do to make it even better but one word of advice. Be sure to make a backup of at least your wiz.bin and sage.properties files before you experiment and even if you don't. I learned that lesson early on after only a couple of months of recordings history. The automated wiz.bin backup file (rare but it happens) was also bad so it didn't help me recover. Now I backup my sage directory daily.

Like you, I'm extremely pleased with Sage! This forum also has some VERY sharp and very nice folks on it as well.

I couldn't agree more! Switching from BTV has saved me tons of headache and hassle, and it's given me exactly what I've wanted in my HTPC. It's all thanks to the many helpful and talented people on these forums!
