Thats the issue. If I include the music channels important channels are falling off the roster. What is totalmedia?

Thanks!

Another post by Jafa here http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4790:
HI,

TotalMedia is a DVR application that will ship with future HDHomeRUn units.

It will also be available to existing HDHomeRun owners.

Nick

The Silicondust web site now instructs people that they SHOW scan for channels within Sage. This is all very confusing for me. I think I have followed the directions correctly, and although I have at least 2 of every channel in the Sage channel set up menu, only one channel (the one that appeared after the Sage channel scan) seems to work and pull EPG data correctly.

Also regarding the 68 channel limitation of the HDHomeRun. It sounds like the device can handle more channels, but it is up to the DVR software how they actually handle channels. Many are limited to 68 channels inside the DVR software. So if Sage has a problem with this limitation, I would report it to Sage so they can fix how they recognize the channels and don't limit the user to 68 channels.

I say this based on a post on the Silicondust forum.

The 68 channel limit comes from the remap process remapping Digital Cable to ATSC. There are 68 physical channels in the US as defined by the FCC. This limit only affects DVR applications that do not natively support Digital Cable.

TotalMedia has native Digital Cable support - we will be releasing this next week.

I also think the work around is to use sub channels, but I understand wanting the channels to be the same as their regular cable TV, and hence the need for more than 68 remapped channels numbers to be available.

TotalMedia is going to replace Sage for people? I don't understand how that is helpful to someone implementing SageTv?
