Playing back during recording

Not sure why this happened, but after downgrading to 6.1.8 and upgrading my firmware to the most current release, everything seemed to be working fine.

Then while recording AI in HD I tried to playback from the extender and I could not get it to play. The time-bar and info-bar were light blue in color and the screen was black. The recording had a preview picture, so I knew it was recording.

I then tried it from my Sage server and playback was fine. So I let the recording finish and tried it again, still the same problem, except this time the timeline started at about 10% from the end. I tried stopping, setting watched and then un-setting watched but no matter what I did, the timeline would not start at the beginning and video/audio would not play.

I decided to watch it from the sage server, and although it played fine, the timeline was also screwed up. It started at about the same spot. In fact, this show has padding, and I think it started at the 2nd yellow line, the one that indicates the end of a show's normal timeslot.

The video played fine, and the elapsed time that it displayed in numbers was accurate, it's just that the timeline was not right.

After typing all of this, I hope it is not too confusing. Anyone else ever have this problem?

I don't know if that version number is a typo, but the HD extender requires SageTV v6.3.5 or later.

Yes, it was a typo, meant to say 6.3.8.

Well, since I've already replied once... you've tried v6.3.10? All the xxxx/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream properties are set to true?

What tuner are you using? Maybe someone will have a comment about that.

If no one knows a solution, be sure to contact SageTV tech support.

It kind of happened again last night. I recorded AI and after the recording finished I could watch it from my server, but not from the extender. This time the timeline was not messed up on either device. The same light-blue bars on the extender with a black video screen and no sound.

I have been able to play other HD recordings, just not AI.

I just checked all of the encode_digital_tv settings, and they are all true.

The tuner is an HD Homerun using QAM.

Also, before watching I updated the server to 6.3.9 and rebooted both devices.
