SageMC: Include home videos in My Pictures database?

I use my digicam as a camcorder as well as still photography, and would like to have sagemc show the videos in the photo folders under the My Pictures section right alongside the pictures. I know I can have them imported into the videos section, but they're not really "videos" in the sense that movies are. I have all photos and home vids organized chronologically according to the event ("birthday party", "disney world", etc.) already within windows. I believe them all to be AVIs, but not certain. Whatever a Fuji f31fd makes for video.

Ideas? Thanks!

I'm afraid you are going to get considerable resistance to this. Those 'videos' may not seem to you like traditional movies, but they are most definitely videos, not stills/photos. To be played, they require video codecs. And if they are stored as AVI's, then they are ordinary videos. Many movies are stored as AVI's. I think most users will not want the possible confusion, and developers will certainly question how to tell the difference, between your videos from a camera and videos from other sources.

I think your only chance is for a developer to add an all media folder browser. I do understand from similar experience how convenient this might be.

I see your point, but I think it's also true that most individuals store their "movie" avis in different folders than their "home video" avis. Couldn't sage simply be told to treat each avi it finds in a given set of folders as a "home video" to be displayed with the picture files database, and conversely each avi in the "movies" area under Videos?
