Sage and Ripped DVDs
Running the latest non beta version of sageTV. Java 6.3. AMD 64 3000+ Windows XP, 2Gigs of ram.
DVDs play fine in WMP on the sage server or remote PC But within Sage client: playback is horrible flashing back and forth between the current frame and another frame ... sometimes it catches up and plays ok with sage placeshifter: i get an error 19 So what am i doing wrong? I've got intervideo's dvd codec 5.0.11.997 on both client pc and server ... sage plays actual DVDs just fine. if it is a codec issue how do i tell what codec sage is using and what codec should i be using? placeshifter: I've read it can't play ripped dvds ... but these seem to be old posts and I think as long as I follow the structure for ripped dvds i can play them in placeshifter now? can someone point me in the right direction on both of these issues? |

For the client: are you using UNC paths for the import directories? If not, then you should set up the import dirs that way because the client has to be able to read the DVDs directly; they can't be streamed.

I've seen this before when I've had a bad DVD decoder in Setup. Try picking a different DVD decoder (Setup, Detailed Setup, DVD) and see if it improves...
