SageTV Service Crashes On 6.3.9

Is anyone else running 6.3.9 and an HDHR with the latest driver/firmware? I've contacted support about the problem and they basically ended it with it's the HDHR driver causing it. I haven't contacted Silicon Dust about it yet because I've been rather busy lately. Since upgrading to 6.3.9 and to the latest HDHR driver I've had my service crash 3 times. One time right before my eyes and I ended up missing the first 8 minutes of Sarah Conner as the service automatically restarted (thank goodness for that!).

Just curious if anyone else has been experiencing weird service crashes like this.

The initial release of 6.3.9 was bad and had problems with the service crashing. It was removed shortly after the initial release and then eventually replaced with the current one.

Did you get the initial release? You might consider downloading the current version and reinstalling again.

Or, you can back up to the last good version for you.

My version number shows 6.3.9.164 which should be the updated version.

Since 6.3.8 I was having the UI crash on the server about once per day. I had to log in from a different computer to kill it too because it was running FSE and I could not get task manager up to kill it. Same problem in 6.3.9. I went back to 6.3.6 yesterday. I also had some MVP problems stuttering but cannot say it was related.

Also installed latest HDHR drivers while going back to 6.3.6. Maybe that is why I was not having your exact problem.

I have not. I'm running 6.3.9 with HDHR 20080212 firmware and software. Running SageTV as a service on Windows XP SP2.

I've got the same service restarting problem on 6.3.9 if I enable my firewire firedtv tunrer, when I disable it al is 100% ok. (also running an analog tuner)

Seems to be a problem with firewire tuners.

Went back to the latest non beta version.

Well, I've discovered that my Sage server might have some other issues. Namely a hard drive that might be failing. Although it passed diagnostics. I got home yesterday after work and noticed that I couldn't connect to my server. Turns out it was BSOD'd with a MACHINE CHECK ERROR. I rebooted it and looked at the logs. There are a bunch of disk errors in the log. Kind of scary. All the errors are for my smaller recording drive. I'm thinking I may want to replace the drive before it actually does fail. I'm not sure if this was the cause of the problem but it is certainly a problem.
