HD Extender - restarting a video

A number of times when I come into the room where our HD extender is, after getting off the screensaver, the dialog box with the replay/stop buttons is on screen. If I try and restart the video, it will try to, then just go back to the same stop/restart box as if it's at the end of the video again.

I then stop, or press the stop button to get back to the menu system, then it will replay from the beginning fine.

Anyone else has had this issue or found a fix?

edit - this is with the latest SageMC and the latest RC SageTV

Once you reach the end of a recording Sage can not gracefully resume playback. Has something to do with the core functionality. Stopping and then starting over are the only options - mind you this is only when you have actually reached the end. You can use Restart from the middle of a recording without any problem.

I just did this w/o any problem -- got to the end of the video & playback stopped; I then rewound and played it again.

It sounds like either there is an issue with the customization or with the format of the video being played.

As usual: try the same thing in the default STV w/o any customizations. If you still have the same problem, then file a bug report.

I've had this problem before but I also think it's a core problem and not an Extender or SMC issue. When I have comskip enabled it usually skips the last minute of the network show which means that I miss the "Scenes from the next ...." Well, try rewinding and it refuses to work. You have to restart from the beginning, turn off comskip and then skip ahead to the last skipped part. There are times when I've done this 3 times as I skipped too far and have to restart from the beginning, turn off comskip again,....

That will be my next step if it annoys me enough.

Typically, if a file just ends, you can restart fine. I think the problem comes into play maybe after the screensaver kicks in, or after sitting on that screen for a period of time. Usually I notice the problem after it has sat overnight with the screensaver on, underneath on that restart/resume screen. Then I have to exit out from the movie and can't just restart it.

For me it's not usually an issue, but for any of you with 2 year olds know, the same movie tends to get played over and over about 500 times before they move onto something else
