Yes, there is a difference. No, they are not interchangeable; there's a FAQ item on this question. You can also search this forum for "client placeshifter license" and several posts will show up describing the differences.

I was afraid of this. I purchased a placeshifter license when it appears I should have purchased a client license.
Oh well. It was only $25. can I use 1 client license on two pc's as long as they are not running at the same time? Thanks for the info.
