I was not suggesting that you were being derogatory. Sorry if I offended you....not my intent.

I was just trying to say that there is no reason to bash any developer if they can't or don't feel like keeping up with their plugin.

Update on the Add To Queue fix.
After a number of attempts to get the requests like I think they should be, I still can not get it to recognize the request. There were some ideas I explored to get around that but am still having no luck. It is puzzling why it is not being accepted but I will continue to hunt for the solution. It looks like that has affected my queue control as well when I try to delete items.

Peter,
  • Is this for viewing on a client or the HD200?
  • Do you have IE7 or IE8?
  • XP or Vista?
  • Do you know if you have SilverLight 3 installed? I heard that may be getting installed now. That could change things perhaps.
  • Set UseDebug=true in settings.ini to generate a DebugLog.txt from NetflixSilverlightControl and post that or PM it to me.
  • Post or PM to me the netflixviewer.txt file. (These two files should be after starting up, trying to play a movie, and then stopping Sage.)

Right now I only have the WMP capability to verify operation. I had paid for a 2nd account when I was getting the SilverLight issue working but now just use one account. I don't know whether to switch to SilverLight on this account. I'm not sure if the quality is better and there is more chance of an incompatability for future Silverlight players. Brainbone developed the NetflixSilverlightControl. He was going to make one final tweak but never posted again that I know of. Hope we hear from him again and that he is ok!

I just upgraded to the latest beta and I'm having some problems with the Netflix plugin (using the latest version from first post on this thread). The problem I'm having is that the movie does not play full screen. I always see the progress bar as well as the 'Return to browsing' button. I'm using the Silverlight option. Any ideas on how to get this thing full screen again?

Watch Now movie plays in small square

Still having the following problem

I setup channel 999 as the S-Video input of one of my PVR-150s. When viewing live on this channel, the desktop appears as it should.

When launching a movie via Watch Now, the small spinning wait indicator appears, then the movie starts to play.. but visible only where the spinning indicator was. The rest of the screen is black. Audio is fine.

Any advice on what to check is appreciated. I'm sure I missed a step, or have something misconfigured somewhere.

Running Sage v6.5.9, SageMC 6.38a

This isn't a scaling thing.. the movie is actually cropped to the size of the spinning waiting indicator in the center of the screen.

Answers to your questions:
Client
IE7
WinXP
Silverlight 2.0.40115.0

Using the remote, I selected a Watch Now movie. Everything loaded up fine and the movie started playing. I pressed pause on the remote and the Print Dialog box appeared (so I guess Pause is CTRL+P?) After clicking x on the print dialog box, I pressed spacebar on the keyboard with no results.

Finally, I did ALT+F4 to exit out of the player, then task manager to stop the netflix processes.

I've attached the pertinent information from that session described above.

Thanks for ANY help!!!

I believe that silverlight needs to be running on IE8. Upgrade to IE8 and your issues should go away.

I think this is discussed a few pages back in this same thread...

I saw the discussion here earlier in the thread whether IE7 should be required (since there were some problems with IE6) but nothing about requiring IE8...

how are you initiating pause on your client?

the netflix plugin works with the hd200 remote so it's gotta be something wrong with the coding of the pause command on your client

Morgan, are you working on the queue issue???

I see that the movie starts and plays for a minute or so and then we receive a STOP command.

Did you press the PAUSE before the STOP button? Did the player quit and return to control to Sage correctly in this case? It appears that it does (should).

I haven't had a change to try anything new since I reported my progress (failures) a few days ago. I have some other ideas that I will follow up on tonight.

This may be covered already, but I didn't see it ...
If I'm now a silverlight user, does that mean I can't download for later any longer?

Oh well I liked the download for later feature.
But, I've found that either the plugin or Netflix remembers where I left off if I happen to stop before the movie is over. So, it's pretty much a wash.

Thanks,

Mitch

Just to be clear about my setup, I have SageTV installed with SageMC with the Netflix plugin...all on the same computer. I'm using the Hauppauge 45 button remote with this computer.

In case you were wondering where the print dialog box was coming from, I forgot to remove [NetflixControl] from my Irremote.ini, which maps Pause to CTRL+P. I added this to troubleshoot this problem and forgot about it. Now it's removed and the print dialog box doesn't appear when I press Pause.

I can't remember what I did when for that last session, so I did a controlled experiment. Here's the order of events. Details are attached.

17:39 I select Watch Now on a movie (buffering takes a while)
17:42 The video starts playing
17:44 I press pause on the remote and nothing happens
17:45 I press ALT+F4 to exit out of the IE8 fullscreen netflix window. A screen saying "NetFlix Player Open" is revealed.
17:46 I press stop on the remote and the SageTV screen comes back where I can click "Watch Now" again if I want.

Any ideas?

I am using Windows7 64bit RC and am having a problem with the plugin calling the 64 bit version of IE. I set the default player to silverlight but I end up with a message telling me to install silverlight and then later a message that IE64 is not supported. Has anyone got the plugin to work on a Windows7 64 setup.

Silverlight isn't 64bit and there isn't a 64bit version. You need to run the 32bit IE with Silverlight. 32bit IE is used by default in any Windows 64 bit OS.
