Smile SageTV and Superbowl = Awesome

I just want to say thanks to Sage for providing such an awesome product. I have used MCE,VMC,Myth,Mediaportal, and GBPVR. Nothing compares to Sage!! I recorded all day yesterday in HD from 9am-11pm and SageTV performed flawlessly. Playback was smooth and it looked sweet on our HDTV.

Thanks to you my wife believes in HTPC's again

Ya got to add the 30-45min buffer just to be safe...

Or I think there is an add on that tries to extend the recording automatically.

Sage saved my bacon for the game as well. My wife had an allergy attack during the 3rd quarter and we had to leave the party we were at. Luckilly I set Sage to record the game, so when we got home I just fast forwarded to the point where we left and watched the rest of the game. Otherwise we would have missed the 2nd half of the 3rd quarter and the first half of the 4th.

I second it... great experience. I padded the game by 90 minutes so I had no worries

Upon further review... we were saved... except we had to wait an extra day to watch the end... Who new NFL Football would be followed by Super Bowl Postgame show...

I thought if you were watching file, it would continue on ...obviously I was mistaken.

I would say that SageTV + comskip + Superbowl = awesome. Being able to watch all the commercials in a row is something I look forward to each year (except they were really terrible this year and not that great last year either). I used to do this by manually editing the comskip text file, but with the new right/left commercial navigation this was unnecessary.

I honestly think that this beats Tivo easily. The smoother interface and the lack of conversion restrictions is great. *suggests an iPod video manager that auto deletes and auto transfers*

The game amazing in Sage. My other attempts with capture cards flat out sucked. The video was grainy at best, and the good cards were locked into crappy software. (Crappy software+recording=not good) My only complaint with Sage and the game is that it lacks the ability to put two tuners on the same channel at once. (My card was right next to the graphics card. It overheated. on the upside, I finally had an excuse to buy that cooling system.)

From your avatar this may not apply, check out ipodifier.com Also, nielm's webserver can create an RSS feed which you subscribe to in iTunes. This will download the shows, for transfer to your iPod.
