Icon problems please help

To add an icon to a menu item:

1. Need to have latest version of SageMC
2. Highlight the menu item you want to add the icon for
3. Right-Click (or hit options button) and you'll see a menu screen pop up
4. Select "Main Menu Items"
5. Goto "Edit Menu Item"
6. The last option under "Edit Menu Item" is "set icon"
When you select "set icon" you can browse to the image file you would like to use for your icon.
7. Now select File>"Save Menu File"

I followed the above insructions but still can't get the hover_settings.png to stick to the settings button in the main menu. Any more thoughts or help?

Hi,

I just went through those exact steps and verified that adding icons in the dynamic menu does work using the latest SageMC.

Try enabling debug logging (instructions are linked in flachbar's signature in the SageMC thread) and look for any errors when you try to add the icon.

You could also try starting a new menu definition file to see if there might be a problem with the one you are using.

From what I can see, you are pointing to the FoofarawBlue folder for the hover_settings.png file. Unless you moved a copy there, the FoofarawBlue folder does not contain any menu icons. I would try pointing to ...\Foofaraw\MenuIcons\hover_settings.png and see if that works. All of the other hover icons are pointing there.

I have tried several ways 1. copied folder containing hover_settings.png to foofarawblue themes folder no luck. 2. tried using the default theme and tried to stick any .png file to the settings button no luck. 3. tried to stick some icons to any of the buttons that had no icons in the default, foofaraw, twoblue themes no luck.

Should I try and re-install MC 6.3.7? If so will this break anything? Can I un-install the current MC 6.3.7 before I re-install?

For some reason the hover_settings.png icon was not defined in your file. I added it manually and it works on my system. You also had an odd icon file defined for the online services item that could have been causing you problems, so I removed that.

You can open this version and compare it to your original to see how to add others in the future if necessary. HTH
