Problems with second FireDTV DVB-C box
Hi guys,
Anyone successfully running two FireDTV boxes on SageTV? My first FireDTV-box is working like a charm, but when I try to add the second FireDTV, SageTV does NOT ask me what provider to use, and are not able to scan any channels. For the record, I am using SageTV beta 6.3.7 now, but I had the same problems in the last release version, 6.3.5. The strange thing is, if I remove all sources and add only the one ending with (2), I get the same problem. Unplugging the first box and leaving the second plugged in, then restarting SageTV, the second FireDTV is detected as the only FireDTV-box. It gets the standard FireDTV source name, not ending with (2), and it works! I add the source, it asks what DVB-C provider to use, I tell it to use the only one available (CanalDigtal, as I live in Norway), and scan works perfectly... How can I get them both working at the same time? Why doesn't SageTV ask for the provider? It's almost like it doesn't detects it as a DVB-C source because of the "(2)" at the end... Anyone else having this kind of problems with dual DVB-C setups? Best Regards, Terje |

Hi Terje
I have not had this exact problem you describe. Two things to try: 1) Remove you property file to force Sage to regenerate a new one. 2) Be sure you have two tuner specific .frq files in your sage folder. One ending with a 0 and on with a 1. They are identical so take the one from the tuner that works and copy it changing the 0 in the end for a 1. Rasmus

Hi,
i had the same problem after adding the second firedtv dvb-c box. After a while i discovered that after a sagetv upgrade the default predefineddvb.frq (not the exsact name) replaced my where i added the german unitymedia frequencies. Thats also the reason why y<ou cant select the dvb-c provider during the setupo process. Just add them and it will work. Hornsounder |
