Windows 7 here, no funky UI candy installed anywhere...still have the blue border in windowed mode. How to get glass?

Thx,

Great news. SageTV 7.0.18 fixed the problem. They hadn't tested it with Windows Aero. It will now be compatible with Windows Aero. I'm hoping they will just get rid of the fake XP titlebar all together and let the OS decide what it should look like by default.

Just wait for the next beta release of SageTV 7 so full screen will work correctly, then you can enable the feature to do that via the sageTVclient.properties file. Just type the below setting at the bottom of the file. Be sure to do that when sageTV is not loaded in memory.

ui/window_title_style=10

I've been doing it for years. But, I had to use my own fix; which wont be needed anymore with the upcoming beta release.

Thanks. So it's only usable via a property setting? You would think it would be default...what with all the new UI changes...

If I heard right from support, starting from the next beta on, for Vista/Win7, it will be the default. So no need to change anything inthe properties file.

That doesn't appear to be true. I just installed 7.0.18 over my 7.0.17 client and I still saw the XP window. I then went to my sagetvclient.properties file and updated the line below:

Changed ui/window_title_style=0
to be
ui/window_title_style=10

Works great now.

Okay, I read the comment more carefully. It looks like this is only true for new installs:

"It is the default for new installs with Vista/Win7 now. "

I did notice there is a loss of functionality though in 7.0.18. When I use the new Aero window, if I click the Maximize button on the window, it maximizes the window but does not make Sage full screen.

Is this by design? Using the previous XP window mode, clicking Maximize would make SageTV go into full screen mode.

I think they fixed it to behave like all typical windows apps when you hit the maximize button. Youre supposed to use the full screen button to get full screen and maximize to maximize.

For me even if it use the STV full screen button I do not get the maximize the way it use to. The windows task bar stays below and I get the top bar.

What version of sageTV are you using? It doesnt sound like youre using sageTV 7.0.18 with ui/window_title_style=10 in your properties file.

I would bet aero is disabled with the ion because win 7 doesn't consider the ion as capable enough.

aero is not disabled by default. sage (.18) was not working so I disabled aero with the same results. I am currently restoring to before the .18 update. With .16 everything worked just fine.

The ION is more than capable. Dual core atom 330 OC to 2.1Ghz, 3GB (usable DDR3) Nvidia 9400 with 512MB dedicated, 512 shared RAM.

iirc if you set
Code:
ui/window_title_style=0
then everything will work the way it did in .16 with .18 (fake xp title bar and ability to make it fullscreen)

No, in .16 we had an aero title bar and the ability to go fullscreen. I did this with: ui/window_title_style=10 and with the fullscreen exclusive mode enabled. Worked great.

Now in .18 even after removing the ui/window_title_style entry in the .properties, I get an aero title bar but all sorts of wonkiness when I toggle to and from fullscreen and ultimately I have to use the task manager to kill the client.

You should probably send a bug report to sageTV beta support. I dont think that sageTV developers have tested the new features with full screen exclusive in a while.

my bad... for some reason i got the impression we were just talking about getting full screen to work (without worrying about aero title bars)... sorry for the confusion

Okay, I just updated my SageTV PC Client with the latest STV file/update. Turning OFF Fullscreen Exclusive Mode (Setup / Detailed / Advanced) and with
ui/window_title_style=10 still set in the .properties file, things work as they should.

(It was support who recommended Fullscreen Exclusive Mode ON previously in order to get this all to work properly before .18)

I still have an on-again off-again issue with ObjectDock but I can live with that. It works perfectly on my primary HTPC (no ObjectDock there).

We've fixed this issue now for 7.0.19. It's been verified by a few of you already I know.
