Need help upgrading Sagetv Software

I am currently using sagetv software v 6.2.10.152 with SageMC STV v6.3.6b and am interested in upgrading to v 6.3.5 of the sagetv software but im not sure where to start. i dont want to lose my past recordings showing up under recorded tv. Any help would be appreciated.

This should help.

I haven't really had any problems just installing over an older version. It's always good to make a backup of the entire SageTV directory before you install the new one, just in case...

Yeah I just intstall the new version over the old version works 99% of the time.

Yeah thanks for the help i was just afraid some of my video's wouldn't show up like last time, but i was able to upgrade without any problems this time

I've just done a similar upgrade myself and had no issue with existing recordings. (I just installed the software over the existing installation)

The only problem I had was that the format and name of the frq file used for my DVB-T tuners had changed and I didnt know. This caused me to record 2 days worth of nothing as the tuners wernt actually tuning into any channel.

Removing and reinstalling the tuners and ensuring I did a Scan for channels fixed it.

As a precaution I always take a copy of the entire "C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV" folder. Note Newer installs will be in "C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV"
