Fix for Music Bug in V2

If you saw this bug in the release email for V2:

5. One major bug to take note is that music files are repeating themselves
for the first 20 seconds or so. We chose not to hold the beta release back
to make this fix but it will be one of the first bugs resolved early next
week.

I've just fixed it. Download the fixed file here and put it in your Frey Technologies\Common folder overwriting the one that's there. Because you gotta have the music.

I keep my music in "My Music". Where do I go in V2 to tell SageTV where my music folder is?

Thanks,
Kevin

If I use the Library Import will it make an additional copy of all my music or will it simply use the directory that contains my music?

Now will version 2.0 support .wma's? If I import them, they show up in the VIDEO library, and won't play, just like in version 1.4

Okay, I had to type in "C:\Documents and Settings\kevin\My Documents\My Music". THis was really awkward though. Sage would not show the entire string I typed in. Also, I would be nice if there was a browse button to allow you to browse to the directory.

[Ooops, I stand corrected. There is already a browse button]

Now my music is being shown in the jukebox. There are no album covers however. Just a bunch of No Art Availables

Do you have coverart in the directories? I doubt Sage goes and finds coverart.

Man, that has to be one of my BIGGEST issues right now. Also, the whole Cover Art issue. I made a thread about that, can't seem to get ANY cover art to show for video/audio, and I do have cover art in the same folder as the media file. I've even named the cover art with the same title as the media file.

Once these issues are resolved(in addition to playing .wma, and other audio formats), I foresee myself ditching myHTPC

Hopefully someone with experience will stop by. I suspect you have the filename and/or file type wrong.

I thought I browsed to find my music directory... I certainly didn't type it in.

As MP3 Picture Album Art Cover problem you need embedded Album Art so you have 2 Option here.
1: Musicmatch JUKEBOX.
You need buy the Plus ver in order to get Enhanced Super Tagging which allow you add Art cover to all ready Rip MP3.
2: Mp3 Tag Tools.
Use 125x125 JPG cover art work being I not sure if Jeff add PNG or BMP as an image format.
You may well forget WMV/A that own by MS.

SHS,
I just tried MyHTPC. It found the album cover art automatically. I didn't have to do anything. The same directory with SageTV 2 comes up empty.

That's because if you look in the myHTPC config there is a config for cover art extensions and by default it's jpg, bmp, gif, jpeg so any file with that extension shows up as cover art. As SHS said Sage 2 is looking for the embedded art in the MP3 file/tag.

nice fix!!!

the only thing i need now is for music to be selectable by genre too

that's one feature i miss from 1.4.10 i can make playlists as a workaround but not a route i prefer to go.

I'd like to throw in a vote for file based cover art. All my music is lossless APE and I don't think you can embed coverart into APE files. Plus it would allow larger pictures.

Of course Sage needs to support a lossless format before this makes a difference.

I say add jpg support for the folder the music is in. If it's in the folder, it overrides the embedded pictures, and if not, they take over.

Music out through pvr350?

So is music out through a pvr 350 one of those things
that can't be done, like DVDs?
Is anyone able to play music through their TV out?

I'm using v2 beta with a WinTV PVR 350 on XP pro.

Any help would be good. I'd like to listen to my music in one
place.

Thanks.
