Help with 2 questions

Hi guys, I've just completed my HTPC build and have installed the sage trial and have run into a couple of issues that I can't seem to iron out.

1) I am using the hauppauge 1600 with QAM tuning however I'm getting horrible studdering. I've used FRAPS and framerates are rangeing from 3-60. My CPU usage is at 40% so I am assuming that the issue is with the signal. Is there anywhere in Sage to see the signal strength for QAM?

2) For some odd reason the time in Sage is set to GMT and I can't seem to find where to change it. The clock on my PC is set for the correct time.

Thanks in advance

Hardware:

Proc: e2200
MB: Asus P5E
Tuner: Hauppauge 1600
RAM: 4GB
OS: Vista 32bit
VideoCard: Radeon HD 3850

not sure about this, but what decoder are you using? Also not familiar with that video card myself.

You need to update Java to 1.6 . Sage comes with Java 1.4 and it is not Vista compatable. The result is that your clock in Sage gets set to Zulu time.

Thanks ke6guj, the install of java 1.6 fixed my time issue.

I've tried using the NVIDIA decoder, cyberlink, and the default sage decoder. So far all have had some studder.

Unfortunately, I can't test the channels in the WinTV program to see if it studders there since the Hauppauge software doesn't find any QAM channels.
