Sage locks up - system ok

When I attempt to watch a DVD via ISO or Storred media, the program hangs. It has happend 3 times in 1 day. This is my first system setup, at least this year. The dvd's are stored remote on a NAS. The DVD froze when I attempted to skip forward. The ISO froze right away. XP is not locked up, just the application stops responding. Task manager shows it is fine, but no commands or response from sage. . . .

Thanks in advance.

Running 6.3.5 (159)

Turn on debug logging, the instructions are in the sticky FAQ.

Then come back and post the log entries when the lockup occurs and maybe one of us can help you.

P.S. Make sure your java is the latest and greatest.

If you are running wireless this could explain it as well, wireless is good for web browsing and that is about it!

That would be great.

To further add to it, on DVD via remote NAS and TS folders, using the remote to "skip" ahead, is when it finally croaks. at least on this attachment.

Thanks all!

Hey frostykev,

This may be unrelated but... I recall having problems with various dvd apps when trying to skip past the annoying intro bits on rips that have had PUO's (Prohibited User Operations) removed. PUO's are the flags that stop you from being able to skip past sections like the copyright/punishment/aversion therapy sections.

I don't remember whether sage suffered from this problem or not. I set the remove puo's options to false in dvd decrypter a long while back so don't have a quick way to test this sorry.

If you let the whole intro thing play through and start the movie in the usual way, can you skip forward from that point?

I didn't think that playback of iso's was supported by sage.

Mick.

It hasn't locked up for a while, but I haven't been fast forwarding durring that period. I was having stuttering issues thanks to codecs and settings, and was having to skip to a certain part to validate, hence the lock ups. I do not experience the lockup anywhere else.
