Capture Error on Playback

My system was working great then I turned it off for two 12 days of vacation. When turned it back on I get the following error: Capture error on playback Error (-3,0x80070070) There was a problem accessing the filesystem for capture.

I can't view or record live TV.

I set up the video cards again and can see tv on them so they appear to be working. Please help ASAP. I need to tape the BCS chamionship game tonight.

No recent system changes.

2 VBox 151 capture cards
HD Antenna
Windows XP Home
2 G RAM
SAGE TV 6
Nvidia GeForce 760GT
Dual 2.66 Ghz processors

Thanks for your help.

Do you need to set or reset permissions to use the recording directory locations? Maybe the service needs to log in as a user w/a password to use the UNC paths.

Are the recording dirs full? If there are no files that SageTV is allowed to delete automatically, you won't be able to record anything else.

Problem solved - external HD was problem - leads to new ?

I had added an external hard drive as an additional video recording directory before leaving on vacation, I thought the system was working with it just fine but after reading Andy's reply I removed it and the system works. Thanks Opus

It DOES NOT have a password and can be read just fine from windows file explorer, any idea why Sage can't access it? The first three directories listed in Sage have 3G, 10G, 10G of space then the external drive has 165 G with 40G allocated to Sage. I don't know why Sage was even trying to use it when there was ample room on the other directories/drives.

Is there a trick to using external drives? I was planning on puchasing a 500G - 1T drive to add space for more shows, this external drive is just my system backup drive I was using in a pinch, but I don't want to use an external drive if Sage won't play nicely with it.

I really appreciate getting such fast and helpful response in this forum.
