Could I get some opinions for the experts?
If you had my setup and you wanted to have the best HD possible, where would you start? I know this is all in my sig, but it might be easier to read here.

That setup should do HD just fine. I would ditch the two 160 drives and pick up a single 500 but your CPU should work fine. Honestly I would get the HD working THEN see about an upgrade.

What is your proposed HD source? Are you going to use that HDHR you have or are you looking at a R5000 mod?

If you were going to upgrade anything you should get a faster CPU/motherboard. Maybe something dual core (or quad core, but honestly that would be kinda overkill I think).

I am using an ASus motherboard with an Athlon 64 x2 4200. Once I stopped using my server as a client (built a PC based Client) I stopped having ANY problems with recording HD. I am currently using my HDHR and can record 2 HD programs, up to 3 SD programs, have the PC Client going watching HD, and have two other SD clients going with no issues whatso ever. With all that going ComSkip gives me a little grief but I rarely have THAT much going all at once.

Pat,
Thanks for the reply. That was great advice and just what I was looking for.

I am going to try to get the HDHR working again. I haven't had very good luck with it. I heard the R5000 MOD was really expensive, but then again I don't know much about it.

Thanks again,
Dana
