Wasn't it CES where the HD extender was first demoed last year?

I wish I knew where. 148K people and 1M++ sf of exhibit space is a lot to wade through. And they're not in the directory.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any coverage on them at the show. The only hit I found on Google News was a recent review. Good score though.

They definitely aren't at the Hauppauge both. I visited them today. But Hauppauge folks did show me a super-prototype new HD capture product: the HD-PVR (tentative name). Tentative price: $250. Captures full 1080p over the analog hole, so no DRM issues.

I asked if Sage new about it or would support it, and the rep told me he didn't think they were aware of it yet. So Sage folks: Please make some calls and start bugging hauppauge. I'd love to use this to capture HD off my cable box or as an alternative to the R5000.

so is this a component card? I agree, when they come out, this gives us more options then the R5000. Some will be able to stay with DirectTV, or cable instead of having to move to Dish.

from the "google research" I have done, analog hole refers to component cable. That is what I have been waiting for, a component encoder card. This would rock and I would buy 3 or 4 of them...and get hd boxes right behind it.

this rocks!

I hate waiting lines too, and thats why I didn't wait, and I ordered my hd extender the day they came out.

Here's some info I can post about SageTV at CES:

Quote:
In the Echostar booth (Central Hall 9021) there's a technology demo with an Echostar set-top box streaming live HD TV to a Pioneer Blu-ray player running SageTV software. It's currently a technology demo only, no product release commitment from Echostar or Pioneer at this point.
That's all I can say about it, so if you ask me questions, don't expect an answer.

If you are at CES, you might be able to get more info at the Echostar booth.

Why couldn't this have been posted yesterday, or early this morning? My friend was at CES today and I could have had her take some pics for us
