Good news, if they could add support it would be great.

I have uploaded a sample file from ITV HD to sage support so hopefully we may see a fix in the next beta. All we need now is something on there worth watching!

BTW do you have your HD-100 yet? How long was it customs?

Thanks

I am receiving freesat, plus all the FTA Sky channels for 3 days so far running in Sage 6.4.3 with a TechnoTrend S2-3200 DVB-S2 card. I can get BBC-HD, but have not yet found ITV-HD (can anyone post their .frq file entry for it?).

The TT card comes with an OEM'd Cyberlink/PowerDVD H264 decoder, which has hardware accellerated H264 decoding, and works just about OK on my AMD 2800+ with an ATI HD2400...

I do have a couple of minor problems causing occasional frame drop, possibly due to a dodgy DIY disk alignment, and partly due to a card initialisation problem (I have to run the TT app once after each reboot before Sage can tune the card correctly)...

This was posted earlier on in the thread, but I haven't got it to work yet myself.

I'll be trying at the weekend if I get time.

What I wasn't sure about with ITV-HD is the EPG. With it being a red button service I can see it making things a little more complex.

As its a red button service I was thinking it will proberly be a simulcast of ITV1 so was going to use the normal ITV guide and give it its own channel number. I'm not sure how accurate this will be but its better than no guide data at all.

That's my plan too. I'm sure it won't be long before digiguide is flagging programmes as HD on ITV

I can watch ITV HD with no problems using a TT S2 3650 using DVBViewer - but so far no luck with Sage.

In DVBViewer, you can edit the details of the service which appears as "10510", which shows as an audio only service when doing a scan of the frequency posted by Doc above. These are the instructions found in the digital spy forums:

"find the new audio channel 10510 (under arquiva or unknown - not BskyB)
using channel editor
change the video pid to 3401
change the audio pid to 3402
choose H264 as Video codec
choose AC3 as audio codec
Name the channel eg ITV HD"

I can't find audio channel 10510 in the scan results for Sage - and even if I could find it I wouldn't know how to edit the other parameters. Perhaps however this can help someone else to work it out!

It doesnt however work with live tv but does work if I record for an hour then playback via recorded tv which seems strange. I also tried taking some screen shots but I just end up with a black screen where the video should be.

I've also tried manually tuning some radio stations but they just thow up an error.
I came across your post which refers to manually adding entries to a .frq file and was wondering if someone could help me to manually add a channel... I have multiple DVB-T Freeview tuners (2 x Nove T -500 = 4 tuners) all using the EPG of the first tuner. I wish to manually add BBC3 which is not currently in the channel list. I believe the .frq entry is:
CH:37 onid:9018 tsid:4100 sid:4351 frq:506000000 band:8 ctrl:1 #:BBC-THREE

... but which files do I edit and how? I have tried adding the above to the tuner's .frq file and I can see that there are entries in the sage.properties file which I have also tried editing but nothing I have done so far have resulted in a new entry.

I do not want to re-scan channels as the channel lineup is different at different times of day, which is why I need to manually add one or more channels.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of what to do, step by step?

Many thanks.

the frq filename depends ont he name of the driver/card.

With my Nova T 500 it's "Nova-DT DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0) -0-DVB-T.frq" and "Nova-DT DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path1) -0-DVB-T.frq"

But with another driver it was "Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0)-0-DVB-T.frq" and "Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path1)-0-DVB-T.frq"

The easiest way is to look for a frq file with a timestamp about the time you scanned for channels. There's one for every tuner, 4 in your case.

PS I think you need to restart the sage service (or just sageTV if your not using the service) for it to pick up the change.

Just add the line to all four .frq's. If you are using xmltv for your guide data then dont forget to add your new channel otherwise Sage wont pick it up. If your using over the air epg make sure the guide is also updating properly.

Anyone tried the latest beta (6.4.5) to see if ITV HD works with the extender? Or has anyone had any news about a fix?

Whitey passed a file over to Sage Support on 11/06 I believe, hopefully he will let us know if he heard anything.

I asked for the HD100 to support server transcoding of DTS (as the HW won't decode it) and support added that for this release so seems they are pretty responsive to requests.

I've not heard anything since I uploaded the file. There doesn't seem to be any reference to it in the list of fixes so I will give it ago when I get chance later today, not that there's anything on the channel now Euro 2008 has finished!

I've just edited my frq file with the ITV HD data shewn earlier in this thread. However I still get a no signal message. When you say that there is nothing on the channel now, are you saying that I should expect to get a no signal message or should I be getting some sort of test card?

I'm not sure but you should see a some sort of test card. When I tried it a while back I had a loop of the Girkin in London and a few other buildings and motorways. However they may have stopped that now.

Hmm. I wonder what is going on. My Fire DVB S2 box picks up BBC HD fine. Is there any technical difference between the way that BBC and ITV HD are broadcast which I would need to address in setup?

Yes there is a difference but there's nothing you can do, it's all down to sage to sort out.

At the moment there is a static screen being broadcast with the ITV HD logo and a message about being off air.

Hi guys,

I updated to 6.4.5 also, and agree that its still blank on sage, both the HD1000 and the Server. DVBViewer is Ok. How do we pester Sage to add the option to change the IDs, or give us that setting in the FRQ files?

thanks
Damian
