FLAC support
Is anybody using FLAC and storing their CDs as image (all songs in one flac file) with cue file alongside of it? I was experimenting with it today and this is what I see.
Sage finds my .flac files and displays it with flac extension (going through the folders tab). When I click on it, it shows me only one song, oddly 2nd track and no other tracks. When I start playing it, it shows me it is 45 min long (the length of the CD). When I try to ff or rewind, the extender locks up (firmware 20071207). Should the extender/Sage work with FLAC with image/cue files or not? Thanks |

Not with the image file and cue sheet. No support that I'm aware of. It does support FLAC files ripped as single tracks and the ID tags and album art.

Thank you Gerry. I can verify that once I switch to FLAC single track files, it playes them just fine. I cannot get the album art to work. I have the folder.jpg alongside of my .fac files but the extender doesn't display it. Any advice you can give me? Thank you

The tag program I use also embeds the album art in the tag. I've used mp3tag, tagscanner, mediamonkey and a couple of other ones that work well.

I didn't do rescan, because the folders with the flac files just showed up in the extender once I copied them to the server. I also have the automatic refresh/rescan (whatever it is called) on.

so what I found out is that if I just had folder.jpg alongside of the .flac files, the extender didn't show the image. As soon as I embedded them using mp3tag they showed up.

I can verify now that when running 6.3.7 and latest firmware 20080204 the extender shows the image even if it is not embedded and it is just present as folder.jpg. Case closed.
