Single click channel guide

When in the channel guide is there a way to set it up to allow you to go directly to a show once you click on it vs. giving a variety of options. If I wanted to record something then I would rather click teh record button or if I wanted additional info I would click on the info button.

Is it possible to do what I would like?

Have you tried just pressing play. Works on my system.

This is my first experience with sage I would have thought one would just push the OK to select the channel. I am just use to the way mce does it. Time to think differently and I am not sure how easy it will be to retrain the family.

When I push play, it starts in the little window. Not the behavior I would want. Is there a setting somewhere to toggle where it plays?

I think if you have it "Display Video on Menus: Never" it will play full screen! It worked for me on Placeshifter when I just tried it anyway.

this seems so odd to me. what a horrible design. I would think since you are navigating with the arrow keys you would want to push the OK button and go directly to the show without any other menus. Instead you have to navigate to a completely different portion of the remote and push the play button.

I guess this process wasn't thought out very well. If I wanted options I would push the info button.

I just need to make sure to tell the kids to hit the OK button twice.

Actually, I think because of all the options the idea is well thought out. I may be browsing the guide to add a new favorite, see more info on a show, or look it up in imdb.

However, I would agree with play. If you feel strongly enough, navigate to the guide and type ctrl-shift-f12. That should launch studio which should allow you to change the behavior of the select option.

It works the way it was designed to: use select to see all the options for an airing; use play to play it; use other commands to do other direct actions on the airing.

If options are set to play the video in the preview window, playback will start in that window. In that case, use Play again to jump to full screen playback.
