Heya Plucky
It seems I'm not awesome enough to PM you! I know you're super-busy at the momemnt, but any chance I could help you with beta-testing WAFTV? I've just switched over from MediaPortal, after Vista MC, after XP MCE, after MediaPortal, after SageTV :-) Things have changed in the last few years - but the one thing that never changes is the need for more WAF.... |

Thanks.
Thanks. Yes, when it is finished I'll wrap it up as an overwritable zip. Included will be my extensive fanart collection. Many of those backgrounds are custom. All 1080P.
I've been combing through the forums for plugins that make the music screen less clunky. It appears there are none. Hopefully, tmiranda can get back to me soon so we can discuss ways of fixing this screen up so it is more useful. Last edited by chris123; 11-13-2009 at 08:52 AM. |

Custom made each icon, some icons were constructed with the help of deviant art .psd templates, others from scratch. All those movie folder icons are custom. I've done about 120 now. One folder for each HD movie on my hard drive(s). It was a lot of work. I'm still working on the backgrounds too, my goal is to have at least 1 high quality 1920x1080 background with the proper positioning of faces above or over to the sides for each movie, and then several 1080p level backgrounds that will slide-show when the movie info is selected. I've so far done about 900.
That TV icon is a virtual representation of my Vizio TV (= My Sanyo camcorder and my Coolmaster Cosmos case is in Sage too. Yes, I see now Plucky is working on a version of SMW for pictures/music. I have tried Plucky's SMW and prefer iMovies for it's deeper level of customization and mouse control. Plus SMW only supports jpg's, my folders are all png's with transparency. I have tried SMW and found it messes up these images. I also found SMW to be unresponsive at times (though I'm sure this has/will be fixed). I like Plucky and his wall don't get me wrong. It's just not for me. I'm hoping someone is working on something else. Last edited by chris123; 11-14-2009 at 02:05 PM. |

How were you able to get the DVD sleeves in iMovies? Did you make your cover art with the sleeves? I have thought about adding the sleeve as an option. |

I'm not familiar with iMovies... but in SMW and TVE PluckyHD and I use a transparent PNG and just overlay the sleeve on top of the cover art. We also do some transformation (rounded corners) on the original so it looks better.

Razrsharpe, I was wondering how Chris123 was adding it, because I never added an option to iMovies to allow for a sleeve. I was wondering if he actually modified the cover art or if he found some other way to do it. |

He is modify the files themselves. There are allot of free programs out there that do this.

jvl711;
Plucky is correct. These DVD covers are .psd templates to which I inserted cropped actor portraits into. I use Photoshop for all my graphic editing. They are actually quite high resolution covers. I am currently working on getting all of them to look consistent in terms of saturation (I didn't settle on a saturation/contrast ratio until I had developed dozens lol). I would be happy to share them with anyone who requests. jvl711, I am currently looking for someone who I can work with to improve iMovies, not sure if you have time, I will PM. |

Thankyou
Thank you. Not yet, likely by January. I'm also working with the iMovies creator in order to bring updates that will make filter selection more intuitive and family friendly. Stay tuned.

Hi Tony,
We're still all here coding away, don't expect to see it anytime soon, although you may very well see some parts of Ortus appear in other STVi's for Sage/SageMC. Ortus has really started to take on a life of its own and has grown beyond our initial specification, an example of this would be the SQL database and built-in fanart/metadata scrapping facilities which currently has about an 85-90% hit rate on movies/tv shows (recorded or imported). The screen designs have changed once again and follows the popular Meedios skin evolution, this means you can now choose between 5 different color themes. Other key features would be episode/season filtering, multiple screen views and a user specific log-in system using Wii Mee images, you can even create your own user logo's using various Wii Mee sites and import them into Ortus for that extra personal touch. I may post a few screenshots a little later today. Team Ortus Edit: The Screenshots. Last edited by Team Ortus; 12-07-2009 at 07:07 AM. |

Hi there, this is probably premature, but I'm curious if the Ortus fanart scraping/autodownloading subsystem will use a different method than BMI/Phoenix? How would someone upgrade to the future Ortus if they already have, for example, BMI 3.1 installed. Will this fanart scraping system (I'm guessing with automatic downloading) be available separately from Ortus?

Yes it uses a different method for downloading metadata/fanart. Otus is completly unrelated to Phoenix.... the only thing we currently use that belongs to Phoenix is the actual call to pull those images into the UI, this is the last thing we need to change. We still use the same folder layouts as Phoenix so all your images can be transfered, some folders maybe named differently but thats all. We also needed to add our own folders for season specific images which is another reason for the change. You can use both BMI and Ortus so upgrading wont be an issue, I currently use both. As Ortus uses an SQL db we also have our own WebUI so you won't be able to use BMI's WebUI with Ortus. Yes the scrapping is automatic and it will be made publicly available in the api, however it currently won't work on its own like BMI does. It was primarily designed for Ortus. Cheers Ben
