Did you shut sage down? I don't think Sage can reload a java "plugin".

Stanger:

I did, stopped the service, moved the existing .java & .class files to a temp holding dir & then put Mikes new ones in & re started the service.

If I put your files back in place it finds the collection.xml with no problems.

Stopping/Starting the service is not necessary. You must re-start the gui for it to pick up the new class file. Make sure you are running the latest version of SageMC. 6.3.7a as I have not tested it with any other version. Have you turned on the debug log?

It's the STV that determines how the Collection.xml is found not the DVDPro2Sage.class file. My only thought is you're running an older DVDPro2Sage.class file to begin with. Also, was this class ever packaged in a jar in another plugin? (This is more a question for Stanger) Check your JARs directory in the sagetv directory and look for any jars that might have the name dvdpro2sage or such.

"Collection Not Found" can be displayed for any number of reasons, what actually causes it to be displayed is DVDPro2Sage didn't initialize properly so it didn't return a valid object. Not finding the XML, bad loading of the Java class, can't find the Java class, etc could all cause it.

I am running the Service, but I ran this test directly on the server, so no client log was created.

Here are my prop files.

Appreciate all the work !!

If you are running the service you will still get the client log in your SageTV directory even on the server.

Sorry, My mistake, I did not realize that I needed to enter the debug line into both the Sage.properties & SageClient.properties files in order to get logs for both. (I only put it into the Sage.properties)

I'll put it in both tomorrow & re run the test.

Ok....
The "0" log files are from the test with your class file & the "1" log files are from Stangers. I also included the current properties files for both.

When you rename your old class file how do you do it? Did you leave the .class extension? Try running with only my class file in the DVDPro2Sage directory and nothing else.

-Mike

P.S. In addition can you send me your collection.xml. Perhaps there's something in there that is giving me fits.

Mike:

I had been moving the entire DVDPro2Sage dir to a dir called C:\BACKUP & replacing it with your unzipped DVDPro2Sage dir.

For this test I only replaced Stangers .class file with yours.

Once again, The "0" log files are from the test with your class file & the "1" log files are from Stangers. I also included the current properties files for both.

I cant attach my collection.xml, even zipped it's 1 meg (584 DVD at present ) & the limit is 750 k.

PM me if you want me to email it to you!!

Unfortunately, same results this time...

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help !!!

As it turns out, Tbird's issue was caused by a bug in my code. I have corrected it. The new code can be downloaded here
