RSS newsfeed plugin: toggle NTE

Andy, I can't get the button to work that toggles between numbers and letters..I am trying to build some folder names and it only gives me numbers. I've pressed the toggle button and still numbers....

What am I missing?

You're using the MX-700 remote layout that I posted above? Pause is used to toggle the NTE mode, so have you assigned that button to the Pause command?

Hi Andy, I am using the "out of the box" remote that came with the HD extender. I haven't changed anything or assigned anything new.

I press the abc123 button and it doesn't toggle between numbers and letters. So, I went to "commands" in set up...and checked to set what command that button is sending to the hd extender.. It says "pause".

And no toggle...

Since this has nothing to do with the MX-700 topic, I moved it to its own thread.

Is this in the default STV?

Where exactly is this happening? It toggles when I tried it, so since you said the button is assigned to the pause command, maybe the issue is with the STV code for the place you are using it.

I have customizable menus installed as well as a few other plugins...RSS newsfeed and comskip playback...

Like I said...I go to detailed set up and to commands to see the code when I press the button..It gives me a number and the word pause. Also, the code for the each "number button" is the same before and after I press ABC123. I tried toggling in the RSS newsfeed plugin, when trying to create folder names for podcasts...I only get numbers after pressing the toggle button.

May be you are saying since I am not using the standard STV, that the customizations don't recognize the code...I would assume that by pressing the abc123 button, then the number buttons would output a different code..

But, when I try that in the command section..I only get the same code and a number..

Keep asking questions...I'll get there...

OK... I've now moved it to the customizations section, since you are trying to do this in a plugin.

I would assume that by pressing the abc123 button, then the number buttons would output a different code..

The codes of the remote buttons don't change; pause during NTE input while using the default STV simply tells the STV to treat the number input differently.

got it..so to make that work on any plugin, then the plugin or the dynamic menus needs to recognize the same...

So, out of luck for now..

But, I can't seem to get sound to come though my extender for the RSS plugin anyway...I asked Nelm for help... : )

Yes, but i don't know anything about the plugins. And, I forgot to ask whether you have the same issue on any text input area using the default STV w/o any customizations.

it's a bug in the RSS reader plugin -- that popup does not handle NTE... will be fixed in the next version (along with the no audio problem)

Great...thanks ...will be waiting anxiously for the next release...

We have several podcasts that my wife and I regularly listen to from the server...The other day she said, I want to listen to one of those in the morning in our bedroom before work..Of course I wanted to show off the capabilities of the extender in the bedroom....but, no sound from the podcast... but, we'll get there...
