Screen flashing Pink ???
Hi,
I have a 6200 PCI card in my Gateway 835GM Dual core 2.8ghz with 1GB ram, XP Media Center Edition 2005 OS. Sony monitor connected with the VGA cord. Also have a PVR-500 tuner card. I'm running Sagetv 6. Problem I'm having is every few seconds the display flashes a hot bright pink, like a strobe. It did not do this before I installed this 6200 card. Has anyone had this problem before ? |

I don't know if yours is the same issue, but I saw something like that on an older PC when the video cable was loose.

Do you have another computer nearby? It could be a number of things:
1. The monitor is going bad. Try hooking it up to the second computer to verify. 2. The video card is not seated properly. Pull the card out, blow some compressed air over the contacts to make sure everything's clean, and reseat it. 3. The video cable is loose, but you've ruled that out. Stu |

The VGA connector might be tight but it might also have a bent pin.

Thanks guys for the help, I did all you suggested and more and even spent an hour and ten minutes on the phone with BFG tech, the tech was very nice but after all was said and done he said I must have a defective card.
I agree and think it's not just my card, it's all the 6200's just as SHS said and I went to Best Buy today and got an ATI and it works perfectly. I'm real happy now, no more stinking pink strobin, it was really screwin with my brain ! thanks again. |
