Missing channels on lineup
I'm now missing three new channels on my local cable company's lineup that Zap2it doesn't show (either through Sage or on zap2it itself).
My neighbor, who uses a comcast cable box, get these missing channels and the HDHR can see them, they're just not in the line-up on Sage or on zap2it.com How do I complain to about this? |

You can manually add the channels to your SageTV Source Device. To get the EPG guide data you will need to provide the 'Station ID' (the StnNum Zap2it uses to track Station Calls) during the channel addition setup. Stations *must* already be carried by major cable provider in order to be available to SageTV EPG.
To find the StnNum required for the 'Station ID', go to www.Zap2it.com, enter your zipcode (or a neighboring zipcode) and locate a cable lineup that contains the exact call letters of the station you're receiving. Click on the Station Logo or Station Name to view it's weekly lineup. IN THE URL you will find the 'StnNum' #####. Oddly enough, I have to use this method to pick up our ABC HD source because Comcast carries but doesn't include the station in it's lineup. |

SageTV will prompt you for the Station ID when adding the new channels, and will enter this information in Sage.Properties 'epg/lineup_overrides' similar to this:
Quote:
To add my extra channels I used Setup Video Sources, selected my HDHR device, Channel Setup, ADD CHANNEL. SageTV prompted me for the following: -Enter the name of the new station. The name should be its call sign, such as WCBS [or WCBSHD or WCBS-DT, etc] -Enter the new channel number for WCBS [this is the logical cable channel] If SageTV does not recognize the call sign, it will prompt you for the following... -If you know the Station ID for WCBS, enter it below. You'll also need to enter the REMAP if it's required to tune the channel. You can always clear the 'epg/lineup_overrides' from the sage.properties file later if the Channel Lineup or EPG gives you any fuss. |
