How long does it take for xmltv to update?

Hi. For example, if I "force" an epg update (by dis- and then enabling a channel in the lineup) how long should it take for the program guide to be updated? My poor pc works (I see the disk led blinking) for ove half an hour! Is this normal? I use xmltv, 3 days, 10 channels.

it can be quite long. However not for 3 days and 10 channels. Though XMLTV plugins are not all doing the same job : some download the XMLTV file, some not etc..

If you have not tried it yet, try my XMLTV Importer (see signature). My plugin doesn't do anything intensive when updating SageTV EPG : it only load the already converted data into SageTV (the whole conversion process is done through a GUI and it is also quite fast, especially if you do have a good amount of RAM).
