Playback of CBS HD = reboot ... stumped

On a newly rebuilt client, when I play a recorded show from the local CBS HD channel it reboots the PC. I have no issues with the other HD channels. Shows are recorded via HDHRs.

Things I have tried:
1) reinstall Sage
2) uninstall/reinstall all video ans sound drivers
3) try many combinations of Sage setting
4) seat the PCI Sound card in a different slot
5) replace the SageTV directory from a functioning client with identical sound and video cards
6) install November 2007 DirectX package from Microsoft

The shows are mpeg2 1080i. I can play 1080i shows recorded on other channels. The video resolution is 720p.

I think it has something to do with the Direct Sound .... yet the issue does not happen in Windows Media Player. I have the same sound card on another Client in the house.

The issue does happen when I use the "default" or "direct sound: C-Media ...". the issue does not happen when I use the card listing "C-Media ..." ... unfortunatly I get no center-speaker without DirectSound/Default.

Background:
I had a fully functioning system when the harddrive went-out. I replaced it, installed OS with patches, drivers, Sage etc.

I am stumped.

Anyone have ideas?

What versions are you running of:

Java

Video Hardware
Video Drivers

Sound Hardware
Sound Drivers

other 'helper' applications (USB-UIRT, EventGhost, nVidia Decoder, etc)

any other changes on the rebuild, added cards? Changed IRQs?

I notice in your sig that you are using AC3filter. Perhaps switch that to the Nvidia Audio decoder. If you are connected to a receiver via SPDIF then make sure to adjust the settings for the Nvidia decoder to enable SPDIF passthrough.

I had a similar problem with an NVIDIA 6600GT and MCE2005 only on 1080i content. I ended up reverting the driver to 79.xx and it worked flawlessly.. YMMV
