another btv to sage question: how are editted files from VideoReDo added?
right now with BTV, I have one drive that is where all the new recordings go. I then have a second drive where I put all the edited/no commercial files too which BTV scans as well.
I know Sage has a unique ID for each recording. Right now, when videoredo creates the new file, BTV recognizes the programing information with the new file without me doing anything. does Sage behave the same way, or am I required to do an additional step to get all the programing information to follow the new file? |

Keep the file name the same for the edited file. Just shut SageTV down, replace the original file with the edited one, then relaunch SageTV. That's it.
You can probably get away doing it with SageTV running, just make sure the file is not in used during the replacement.

The most important thing is to use an app like touch to set the date/time stamp on the edited file to the same as the original. Otherwise the timeline of the edited file will be messed up when played in Sage.

Or use the video edit plugin to actually do the cutting, which handles setting all the timestamps (you can mark in VRD externally, save as VProj, then enque the file for cutting using the plugin)

since I have not figured out the editing with Sage TV and Bob's plugin. How do I fix the timestamp issue. And where can I find the app touch?

Answered in the VideoEdit thread. But basically that happens when it doesn't import correctly. Try importing it again.
