Wow. Congratulations Sage! I really think you have a hit on your hands.

$200 is a no-brainer price point.

Sign me up!

Oh, and by the way, you hit the sweet spot for the cost.

Did we ever get an answer on this? I also already have a media extender license and wouldn't want to pay extra if I didn't need to. Options for both an extender w and w/o a license would be great!

Did I also hear ...

Existing SageTV customers get an additional 10% off?

What? I'm testing the speed of rumor to reality.

Oh, yeah ... it's cool to see a real Sage remote! No more remote tweaking or bottons that say one thing, but do another.

And did I say I'm ready to oder too?? ... 13 days to Christmas ...

Oh I do like the USD to GBP exchange rate! Less than £100 is excellent value for money. Am I going to be able to buy it from a UK outlet on 12th December or will I only be able to purchase it from Sage in the US?

Pity that the USB ports aren't supported yet. It means I have to make a backup of any new DVDs before I can watch them.

Sage, pre-ordering would be a good idea, as has already been pointed out.

Awesome. $200 was exactly what I was thinking. This will go on the Christmas wishlist for sure. (But I might have to buy it, as my wife may not be fast enough with all you guys around...)

This is one thing I'd like to know this as well!

Buy from the US might actually be better. If it's distributed here there will be, taxes and VAT to pay, so nearer 200 GB pounds is what I'd expect. (following the usual convert $ to £ scheme)

What will the price be for the bundle HD extender and R5000 dish box?

That's what's on my Christmas list...

So last night I armed myself with as many facts, usability upgrades, and selling points as I could in order to convince my wife to let me buy this thing. Here's how the conversation went:

Quote:
Me: Honey, Sage is releasing an HDTV extender, and I'd like to replace the box in the bedroom (an MVP) with it. I really think that...

Wife: How much is it?

Me: $200, but it can do HD, and....

Wife: OK!

Me: but doesn't have the issues this one has...wait what?

Wife: OK. Get it. I thought you were going to say $700 or something.

Me: Great! It can also...

Wife: Whatever. Can we watch 'Til Death now?
So thanks Sage, you saved me all the effort of convincing her to get this thing. Is the store updated yet?

LOL, that's funny. That is similar to the conversation I had.

It's supposed to be available 12/10.

That's funny, I've gotten through Senate Appropriations a little differently. I convinced the wife that the HD Extender is really important if she wants to watch all her favorite shows in the comfort of the bedroom like she's able to do with our ReplayTV's. I've got defacto approval but I don't mention the price as this is on top of $2,000 spent on recent PC/Electronics purchases.

No reason to bring money into the conversation now.
