The 5 minute balk

I've got a HVR 1600 and HDHR serving up 3 clear QAM HD streams to my Sage system. In addtion there are 2 more analog streams for the other half of the 1600 and a PVR 250.

I've noticed on several recordings a perfect 5 minute delay in the beginning of the recording (shows up as a white mark on the recording time line). The playback will jump from 0 to 5:00 instantly when playing back.

It's starting to look like all the delayed programs are recording on the 1600. The HDHR has higher merit and I rarely get more than 2 HD streams going at any one time. So the occasion to find the gap is rare.

Before I pump up the merit on the 1600 so that I can generate some more evidence, I was wondering if anybody else out there has seen some similar symptoms and has any advice to offer.

Thanks for any thoughts.....

Usually, the 5 minute delay at the beginning of recordings is taken care of by setting the seeker/fast_mux_switch property to false, or using a different recording quality. Since you are talking about QAM & you can't change the recording quality, try changing that property.

Thanks - that seems to make the difference. Haven't had a balk in several days now.
