can we bribe for details about SageTV STX-HD100 Media Extender?

OK, I'm getting desperate, any chance we could pool a bribe together for more details of the SageTV STX-HD100 Media Extender? I'm dying to know what the recommended MPEG4 paramaters are, if it will decode WMV files, etc.

I'll throw in $50, anyone else? I'd love to start encoding my files now so they are ready to go when the extender comes out.

I've got a Subway card that's got 8 or 9 sandwitch purchases on it... street value of at least a couple bucks - all for the low, low price of some system details and maybe a picture or two of the mythical HD extender.

That sounds like you weren't taking him seriously. I don't know how he managed to get those pictures, but that's it all right. The retro look is back in fashion these days, but the modernized part is the touch screen projector lens on the right.

I know you guys are being super tight lipped on the details, but can we atleast get the specs on the num/type of vaccum tubes being used? It better be atleast 50+/argon or it's pretty much usless.

I don't know the argon specs, but it has 6 Dyson "Level 3" vacuum tubes, if that means anything to you. There supposed to be quite powerful.

So is the display used for control (touchscreen) or is it there so it can be used without connecting to a TV?

You must have missed where I said it is a "touch screen projector lens". Or are you asking for more clarification? It projects a touchscreen onto your existing TV from across the room. You don't even need a remote -- you can go touch the TV screen to make your choices & sit down again.

Man, that's going to throw off my whole entertainment center theme. I'll have to mount it in my Desoto with the under dash record player. Hope it's wireless.

I like the fact that the word 'Dyson' is entering common speach like the word 'Hoover'!

Not wanting to give away to much about what I do to pay the mortgage though.

Speaking of Dyson, I was at a shopping center in NYC a few weeks back and they had this Dyson hand drying solution that was really cool.
