Tuner order, not merit

1. What determines the order SageTV lists tuners in the tuner source list and parallel recording schedule?

On my computer it seems to match the PCI slot order and not the order they were installed or the merit order.

2. Is there a way to change this order?

I'm having trouble with one of my tuners (HVR-1600) recording reliably at the same time as another tuner (HDTV Wonder). The key to getting them both to record at the same time seems to be to have the HDTV Wonder start recording before the HVR-1600 starts recording. I set all my tuners to record at the same time and looking at the file creation time stamps it looks like SageTV started the recordings in tuner order and not the merit order. I don't know if the 1 second time difference will help, but I'd like to give it a try if it's not a lot of work. Right now I'm having to baby sit the schedule, which is what I bought the new tuner to avoid.

Obviously you can change the display order by inserting Sort() calls into the STV. But that's not what you're asking.

My guess is that the ordering of the array returned by GetActiveCaptureDevices() is pseudorandom in the sense that it's the result of a hash algorithm in java.util.Properties operating on the mmc/encoders key names in Sage.properties. So fiddling with the encoder ID numbers would probably change the order, but not in any easily predictable way (and would likely break something else anyway).

I have noticed that my tuners change locations in the parallel recording schedule, which would correspond with Greg's pseudo-random theory. Never noticed it when I had 2 tuners, but have noticed now that I have 3 tuners.

Thanks, I never thought of it just being in hash order, I assumed there must be some logic to it.
