Question Installation and configuration problems

Hi,

I am having problems installing and configuration the SageTV demo software. My PC has a Hauppauge WinTV PVR250 card which works OK with its own software.

After installing SageTV I can switch to "live" and view the channels between 90 and 103 but there is no sound and the loudspeaker icon has a cross through it. (The TV display looks better than WinTV or is that just wishfull thinking?).

The bigger problem, is that after a reboot I can find no channels at all, just noise.

Another problem is that the channel numbers don't correspond to Hauppauge's, should they?

TIA

Where are you located? If outside UK/US, you may need to set the 'country code' in the sagetv.properties file to tell Windows to use the correct frequencies for your region.

No, WinTV tunes the PVR-250 manually and allows the user to re-number channels, SageTV uses Window's DirectShow to set the frequencies to the channel numbers defined by Microsoft.. These channel numbers will be in frequency order, are not easily changeable and sometimes not even correct (eg in Netherlands!)

You might also want to delete your older/first post post since you give more detail in this one. I actually posted there asking for more detail. Then I saw you posted it in this thread, so I deleted my detail request from your other post(you may get an autonotification anyway about my post). Other users may not notice it's the same name and we'll have two threads going the same place. Best of Luck
