Animation wishlist

I've started playing around with the new "secret" animation feature in 6.2 and I've come up with a short list of things I'd like to see improved:
  • ZoomIn and ZoomOut should take their origin from the Anchor Point X and Anchor Point Y properties of the named widget, instead of from the center of the widget as they do now. So for instance if Anchor Point X and Anchor Point Y are 1 and 0 respectively, the widget would zoom in from its upper right corner, and zoom out back to that same corner.
  • I'd also like to see Zoom options for horizontal-only and vertical-only zooming. So for instance HZoomIn would start the widget at its full height but zero width, and expand it out horizontally from a vertical line rather than from a point. Similarly, VZoom would zoom from/to a horizontal line.
  • It would be handy to be able to apply two different animations to the same widget/layer, e.g. Zoom and Fade. Maybe there's already a way to do this and I just haven't discovered it. When I try it, I get two images of the widget, one zooming and one fading, instead of just one image that fades as it zooms.
(Andy, if there's a better place for this post, feel free to move it.)

Here's another issue/question I've run into:

The Animation() call targets widgets by name. But tables and themes tend to generate many widget instances with the same name. I don't see a way to target individual widget instances in these cases (for instance the specific widget gaining or losing focus).

Other API calls such as SetFocusForVariable() and EnsureVisibilityForVariable() get around this by targeting unique attribute values rather than unique widget names. It would be handy if the animation APIs had a similar targeting option. (Or is there already a way to do this and I'm just not seeing it?)

Continung...

An option to disable some/all animations when video/audio is playing -- the animations get very very stuttery on my system, even though CPU is <50% (single core system)
