HDHomerun VS HVR-1600 & Theatrix 650

Hands down, the HDHomerun is the winner. Easiest setup, quickest channel scan, best reception, best picture.

I'm using Time Warner Digital in NYC (Manhattan) and I got crappy signals with both of the card tuners. HDHomerun grabbed onto rock-solid signals and more channels (twice as much) as the tuner cards did.

I now get all the standard local channels:

WCBS
WNBC
WABC (and three ABCDT sub-channels like weather and news)
WWOR
WPIX
WNET
WLIW

And

TNT
TBS
MOMAX
A&E
NY1

And a bunch of others I don't really care about.

Suffice it to say I'm a happy HDHomerun customer!

Optimum NJ here.

HDHR - 42 QAM channels found (All networks SD & HD including WB, WWOR and PBS) Basically anything in the basic cable package
1600 - 7 with a trouble ticket.
650 - Unknown, just got the tip from visiontim that I could do QAM this this puppy. Can't wait to try it.

1600 I get tearing when they do come in. And I have not confirmed this yet but I think it is responsible for a missed recording due to a channel not changing. I have no problems with the analog tuners of either. If I do have the same problems with the 650 QAM, I may get another HDHR.
