Question File extensions for converted files (for Zen Vision M)

Hi folks,

I'm using the latest SageTV to convert recordings for use on a Zen Vision M player.

The following works for me:

transcoder/formats/MPEG4-Zen\ Quality\ AVI=f\=avi;MCompressionDetails\=-vtag xvid -deinterlace;[bf\=vid;f\=mpeg4;br\=750000;w\=320;h\=240;fps\=29.97;][bf\=aud;]

...except that for the converted file to play, it needs a '.avi' extension. As far as I can see, SageTV seems only to be able to write '.mpg' files.

I've had a quick look at the ffmpeg options but can't figure out how to specify output filename extension, or how that might work in Sage.

Have I missed something ? Can anyone advise ?

cheers.

I use a program called Blaze Media Pro 7.1 which takes the MPEG2, WMV, AVI and converts them without loss to the size I need. In my case 160x120 or better yet I rather go 320x240 max the pic on my Zvue. BMP doesn't take does it quick then I just move the files over. Music Videos, Movies, TV shows works great.

I use the software to make MP4 videos either Divx of Xvid AVI.

That is the same transcoder settings I use and Sage makes a *.avi file using them. It works perfectly on my Zen Vision W.
