HVR-1600 and .ts

I just installed SageTV with the HVR-1600 capturing HD content and I have a question that will help be resolve another problem (why I can't get purevideo to use its demuxer). Does the HVR-1600 capture in .ts format by default? I know that it shows as .mpg, but I also know that that doesn't mean its not in transport stream format.

If it is not in .ts by default, how do I change that? I've tried to edit the line "mmc/encoders/514453726/100/0/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream=true" from true to false in sagetv.properties, but every time I change it, when I load SageTV back up, it's back to true. This happens even if I check "read only." "Read only" is just removed the next time I look at the file after I load up Sage.

How can I get the 1600 to record in .ts?

A couple of things...

First, when you edit the sage properties file you need to first stop the Sage service - otherwise the file is locked and will not change. Restart the service after you finish editting.

Second, I always get mpeg files - even if you change the parameter. I do not know why. It seems that that parameter doesn't do anything anymore - it is all mpeg.

I do not have the SageTV service when I edit the sagetv.properties. Even with that shut down, Sage changes the file back to "true" when it loads up every single time.

That line should not ever be edited. Way back there was a reason. Search the forum for a statement from Narflex. You need to leave that alone.
